Prom Night

Do you remember your prom?

Boy, I do...even though it was a long long time ago.

Homeschool proms are a little different than what my prom was.

At my kids prom last night, all parents were invited and welcomed to attend.  And, attend I did.

I love that I can go and be a part of this special night with my children.

Rest assured, I don't "get in their way" or "bother them" or "smother them".

I mind my own business and let them have their fun.

At this prom, we have English Contra dancing, waltzing and the like.  That's not the kind of dancing we did at our prom.

Oh, I love this night for my children.  So much fun...

I have to preface these photos by telling you that Beth never wears a dress.  Our church is pretty casual for teenagers and Beth takes full advantage of that.  She just doesn't like wearing dresses.  Ball uniforms and tee-shirts are much more her style.  So seeing Beth dressed up was an incredible treat.  She looked like Cinderella.  She was beautiful in my eyes...

Keith looked like the handsome gentleman that he is.  He is such a fine young man and just exudes goodness.

While the big kids and I were at the prom, Donnie and Faith were at home cooking a great big breakfast for some of  us for when it was all over.  We got home at midnight, had a big breakfast and watched a movie.  Such a long, but fun night...

Brother and sister...

Faith loved seeing Beth all dressed up.
It won't be long before Faith will be going to her own prom.

These are three of Beth's closest friends.

This group went together, but none as dates.  All just friends.

Best friends and sister's in Christ.

How We Are Spending Our Nights

It's spring time and that means softball around here for us.

Faith is playing 1st base.  Look at that tongue...That's concentration for sure.

This is the first year Beth has played catcher.  She usually is at short stop but there team needed help in the catching position.  Beth has now found her favorite spot.  She is good, I tell you, good.

We are blessed that a girl on her team is the daughter of the girl's softball coach at our local community college.  Beth has already been spotted and we are hopeful that this is the beginning of a beautiful realtionship.  Can we say, please scholarship, please.  We still have a few years, but we are starting early.

This girl is massively strong.  She has natural strength.

She hit an infield homerun at this game.  Go Beth...

So this is where we will be spending our next few weeks.

After the rec league is over, Beth will then be joining a travel team until the end of the summer.  Yes, she is a happy girl right now.  She LOVES all things sports.

Faith likes sports...Beth loves sports.

Wish We Had a Pool...

Boy, how I wish we had a swimming pool.  It would be so nice on hot summer days to go outside and jump in, instead of having to drive somewhere and pay all the money.

But, right now we will be happy and content with the little pool that we have.

At least, Faith will be content, because she and Diet Dr. Pepper are all that would fit in this pool.

I just found out that this is actually a hot tub not a pool.

Do you like how we improvise around here?
