You Are Special

I only have a quick minute but I feel so led to tell each and everyone of you how very special that you are. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by the great Creator. Your Father is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Is that not an awesome and amazing reality? You are the apple of His eye. Listen to that...the apple of God's eye is what you are. You are precious and priceless. Your Father has you in the palm of His hand and what BIG hands they are.

"Thank you Lord for loving us and for sending your sweet, precious son to die on the cross for each and every one of us. Thank you for your grace that is so abundant and for your mercies that are new every morning."

I love each and every one of you that are reading this. Truly, I do.

Congratulations To Jacob and Sara

Congratulations Jacob and Sara on the uniting of your lives together as one. What you each did as individuals for so long, you will now do as a united couple. The service you did for the Lord will now be stronger because you will be doing it together.

How exciting it was for my family to be a part of such a lovely, Christ-centered ceremony. Thank you for including us on this special day.

I will never forget one comment that the pastor made that evening. He said that Sara had lived a life of moral excellence. Moral excellence...those two words have stayed in my mind. What a wonderful testimony to your life, Sara. I pray that both of your lives will continue on that same pathway.

God bless you both and may your marriage be filled with wonder, excitement, love, passion and most of all great and wonderful blessings from your Father.

My Sweet Faith

My sweet Faith is afraid. She is afraid of so many things right now and I don't know why. She is afraid to be in a room alone, day or night. She is afraid to be outside when it is dark, even if we are all out there with her.

Last night Donnie fixed up a projector and screen outside so we could have a drive-in movie at home. It was awesome. We had chairs, blankets, sleeping bags, the works...But Faith would not, could not do it. She was terrified to be outside even if I was holding her in my lap. She and I had to stay inside while the others watched the movie.

She starts off in her bed at night and always ends up in Beth's or our bed.

If she is upstairs, we have to be upstairs with her. She won't be on one floor with the rest of us on the other. And...all of the doors have to be shut wherever she is.

I'm telling you this because I would love for you to pray for her. I have prayed and will continue to. Would you mind praying with me? I hate for her to have this spirit of fear.

This will be our little secret, as Faith would probably not be happy with me sharing all of this with you. But, once again I say, I believe in the power of prayer and people praying in agreement about something. Thank you in advance for your prayers for my sweet Faith.

Sweet Memories

The kids and I went to visit my mom today and had a wonderful day. My mom took us down to where my grandparents lived before they passed away a few years back. It is always wonderful to go back there and remember.

I remember going there as a child and seeing my Pa out at the barn working the cattle. He would come through the yard wearing his workboots with his pants tucked into them, his hat on, and usually a "chaw" of tobacco in his mouth. I loved seeing him walk from the barn through that gate that led to the house. He was a wonderful grandfather who loved to hold us up in his lap and tell us the funniest, craziest stories. He had a deep voice that I can still hear to this day. I remember seeing my grandmother's face in the kitchen window everytime we pulled up. She always met us at the front steps to welcome us in and always had a bowl full of bisquits on the stove. (usually cold but always yummy)
I remember horse shoes and rook games. I remember presents being unwrapped at Christmas time and wonderful homemade ice cream being hand cranked on the steps during the summer. I remember cousins, aunts and uncles surrounding the table on special ocassions. I remember wonderful homecooked meals and the ice pick they used to break the ice for the tea. I remember that my Pa would always give me a handfull of change from his money jar before I left his house and my grandmother would sometimes give part of her tithe to my mom and I when times were tough for us.
I love to remember, even though sometimes remembering makes me sad. Those are wonderful memories and it's nice to go back to their home and let my mind go back in time. I hope you have wonderful memories also that you can bring forth into your mind and that they will put a smile on your face and a warmth in your heart.

Family Fun

One of our favorite family things to do is to have a bonfire. We love to roast hotdogs and marshmellows and tell stories around the fire. Well, actually, we can't tell stories anymore because the stories were becoming scary stories and Faith won't let us tell them anymore.

Saturday night, we had our firepit going, ate our hotdogs and marshmellows and then played a little softball. To me, there is nothing better than spending time with Donnie and the kids. I wish this time in our lives could last forever.

Can You Guess??

Can you guess what Faith's Barbies are doing?

Take a look at all of their arms.

Yep, you got it, they are praising the Lord.

Isn't that cool!

This Week...

Just wanted to fill you in on the happenings of my week. It has been a little crazy, a lot blessed, and real busy.

We got back from missions camp on Friday night tired and ready to catch up on rest, but that's not the way it seems to go around our house.

Saturday... Donnie and Beth played in a softball game with parents against players. The parents won. I did laundry ALL day long from our trip the previous week.

Sunday... Went to church and had potluck after church. Helped Beth get ready for volleyball camp. Donnie and Beth went to a softball practice for a church tournament they will be playing in. Donnie hit several balls over the fence. Beth was TOTALLY impressed!!

Monday...Took Beth to MTSU for camp. She did end up with a roommate the second night. This young lady was from Germany and I think Beth shared Christ with her every opportunity that she could get. GO BETH!!

Tuesday...I love projects, so this day I started some different projects in my kitchen and utility room.

Wednesday...Continued with projects and left that afternoon to pick up Beth from camp. I had let the chickens out through the day and was not able to get them back in the pen before we left to pick up Beth. When we got home there was a coon dog in our backyard. The dog hurt two of my hens; one pretty badly. We still have them separated from the others since they have open wounds and chickens like to peck each other if they are bleeding. Bad doggy for hurting my chickens. I know this is their nature; they are hunting dogs, but please don't hunt my chickens.

Thursday...Beth rested most of the morning and hobbled around like an old lady. She was so sore from camp. I got up and went to a moving sale and to Goodwill. Folks, I love Goodwill. I have found so many treasures there and the first Saturday of the month is 1/2 price sale. (I found $40 Lands End Weatherproof Moccasins for $5 the last time I went)

Friday...Finished up utility room and kitchen projects during the day with lots of help from the kiddos. Tonight, Keith and I went to McMinnville to hear my brother preach a revival service. This is the first time I have heard him preach except for the times he has preached to me. :) The other big thing for tonight was for Faith. She is at her first slumber party and she is having a blast. She went to her good friend Carolyna's house for her birthday party. She was so excited to be going to her first official sleepover. She informed me today that she wants to have a slumber party for her birthday and she wants to do things that the big girls do. What is it that big girls do...they eat popcorn, paint their nails and they talk about boys. What am I to do??? :)

Well, that has been our week so far. Tomorrow will be picking up Faith, working in the garden, doing some yard work and hopefully tomorrow night building a bonfire and roasting marshmellows with the family. That will be a great end to a busy week.

So, how was your week. Really, how was it? I hope it was great.
