This is where we have spent the last two Sundays after church.
We have had picnics at the water both times. Food tastes so good at the water, doesn't it?
Donnie taught the girls how to skip rocks.
This man can skip some rocks like nobody's business.
We waded up and down in the ice cold water.
Can you tell that Faith thought it was cold?
More rock throwing.
There were little fish swimming all around our feet.
There were beautiful butterflies everywhere.
Faith tried very hard to catch the fish with her hands.
I love unique trees like this that are growing in such strange ways.
Very odd tree that Faith pretended like scared her. Doesn't she look scared?
Little tiny "falls' everywhere.
Beautiful girl...beautiful water
Isn't this just gorgeous?
More gorgeousness...
People come from all around to swim here.
This beautiful lady greets you as you arrive at the falls.
I would love to know the story of this statue, how she got here and what she represents.
I do know that I can only take a back view and face view because her front side is uncovered.
Can I just tell you that the last two Sundays have been so relaxing and so fun as we hiked, waded, and picnicked in one of the most beautiful places around?
Can I also tell you that I absolutely, positively LOVE spending time with my family?
is this at Rutledge Falls? So fun!!! Next time we come we should all go down there...sound good? Love and miss you!
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteI just read this on a friend's facebook :)
......Lyndon B. "Pop" Jennings saw a pile of statues in the area now known as the Ellington Agricultural Center, Nashville, TN. This large pile of statues apparently had been removed from the state capitol during renovations and were to be buried. Anyway Pop Jennings asked permission for one of the statues and after obtaining it, moved the statue to its present site above Rutledge Falls. It is said Pop Jennings always referred to this statue as "The Lady of the Falls."
Just a gorgeous place to have a picnic! Love all the photos. Nothing like family time, is there? And I've never told you, but I love your music.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Labor Day!

Beautiful! My sister in Knoxville takes us to the Y in Townsend. The creek up there looks very similar. BTW, love the Kari Jobe song. I've heard it by several other people and I really like her version.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!! Looks like a nice relaxing and peaceful place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Anything that lets you admire His work is a wonderful place to be!!

i LOVE this blog..
ReplyDeleteThe Book of Ecclesiastes is so dear to my heart. A quick testimony:
My only son inherited an extremely rare chromosome disorder from me. While my husband and I strongly desire more children, we have 50% chance of this repeating in a pregnancy, but only a 5% chance of delivering a baby with this abnormality. One day when I was praying desperately to the Lord for answers on what we should do, I felt like He laid Ecclesiastes on my heart. So I began to read. As I was reading, I was praying.. "Lord, I know these things. Why are you having me read Ecclesiastes?" Then there it was..
"Whoever watches the wind will not plant;
whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother's womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
the Maker of all things.
Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let not your hands be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well."
Ecclesiastes 11:4-6
I got my answer. Now He's waiting on me to be obedient.
God Bless you and your family!!
